Mollye Saltzman Marcus, 111

8, 2011; Mrs. Mollye Marcus was born on October 18, 1899. She currently resides in
Woodland Hills, CA and is shown from left to right with her Granddaughter, Mrs. Debbie Tynan,
her Great Granddaughter, Ms. Emma Tynan (13 yo), and her Daughter, Mrs. Darlene Louise
Hirschinger. Thus, four generations are represented in one picture!
February 18, 2011; Mollye Marcus passed away early this morning around 1:00 or
2:00 AM PST. The cause of death was fluid in the lungs and/or around the heart. Her Obituary

Mollye Saltzman Marcus [October 18, 1899 - February 18, 2011]
She reached the age of 111 making the records as one of the world's oldest people. Beloved
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, died peacefully in Woodland Hills. Born in Lechovitz,
Russia and migrated at age 4 to Council Bluffs, Iowa and married Abner Marcus in 1923. Moved
to Auburn, Nebraska in 1931. Relocated to Omaha until 1990, then moved to California to be
near family. Pre-deceased by husband Abner in 1964, son-in-law Kurt Hirschinger in 2003,
daughter Beverly Bramson in 2004. Survived by daughter Darlene Hirschinger, son-in-law, Bob
Bramson, 6 grandchildren: Bobbe Bramson Goodman (Martin), David Bramson, Danny Bramson
(Julee), Debbie Hirschinger Tynan, Tom Bramson (Stephanie), Richard Hirschinger (Debbie) and
7 great-grandchildren: Gregory, Stephanie, Joshua, Drew, Jesse, Emma and Nicole.
Funeral services: Sunday, February 20th at 3 PM at Eden Memorial Park (818-361-7161).

December 31, 2007; (Duluth News Tribune) - - A woman who spent nearly the first 100 years of her life in Duluth before moving to Chicago and living 11 more years died on Sunday. Ms. Lillian Joelson moved from Russia to the U.S. at age 13 and settled in Duluth, MN a few years later. She lived in three centuries, and for decades ran Joelson's Family Store on Fourth Street near St. Mary's Hospital. Joelson's Nephew, Richard Aleskow, said she "died of natural causes while living in a nursing home on Chicago's North side." "She wasn't sick a day. She finally just gave up," Aleskow said. "She died with a smile on her face. Maybe she knew something we didn't."
Aleskow said he believed that "at age 111, Joelson was one of the oldest people in the world." Aleskow said, "Joelson's funeral will be in Duluth, but he had not yet made the arrangements Sunday."

April 10, 2011; Dpma Maria Valentim was presumed born in BRAZIL on July 9, 1896
and currently resides on the State of Minas Gerais. Thus far, we have a 1910 document stating
that she was born in 1896, and an ID Card of uncertain date. We are awaiting further
information, including a Marriage Certificate, to officially validate the claimed age .

We could not have completed this case without the rigorous assistance of Prof. Cassio Turra, a professional demographer and our GRG International Correspondent from Brazil, who traveled from the capital of his state of Minas Gerais (Belo Horizonte) to Maria's small town (Carangola) by car for six hours at great personal effort to record the necessary documents in (archaic) handwritten Portuguese with the help of a local Notary Public.
Credit must also be given to Gabriel Ainsworth, who located the family contact information and informed them about applying for the GWR title by contacting the GRG to validate the claim.
This is the first time since 2005 that a sitting titleholder (Ms. Besse Cooper of Monroe, GA; USA in this case) was overturned by someone still living.
This is also the first time a Brazilian has been granted the Guinness title, despite many suspicious claims from BRAZIL in the past that were subsequently rejected as age exaggerations following careful scrutiny by GRG International Correspondents.

October 30, 2011; Maggie Barnes of Kenly, NC died in January 1998. She claimed
to be 117, and the 1900 US Census listed her as born in March 1881. However, her family Bible
listed her as born March 6, 1882. She is, conservatively, one of the ten oldest verified persons in
history, at age 115 years, 319 days, although she might have been a year older. At her death, she
was survived by two nonagenarian children and two septuagenarian children... just four of the 15
to which she gave birth.
November 9, 2011; Ms. Beatrix Lawson of Rhode Island was born on December 23,

November 28, 2011; Michigan; Jeralean Talley was born in 1899. In this photo, she
attends her Godson Tyler Kinloch's open house June 12th, celebrating his graduation from
Canton High School. She attributes her extreme longevity to her belief in God. While her hearing
is failing, her memory is sound. She has no problem recounting what it was like to grow up on a
Georgia farm. Although she has not yet been validated in Table E, the GRG expects to
